An Important Message to Our Patients
To my beloved patients and families:
I have some very exciting, and also bittersweet, news to share with you. A lifelong dream of mine is coming true, as I have been asked to develop a pediatric plastic surgery program in the country of Zambia, in southern Africa.
Many of you know that I first felt called to medicine/surgery when I was a teenager working on a summer mission in Zimbabwe. That started me on a journey to an incredibly challenging and fulfilling career serving others through pediatric plastic surgery. I love my practice here in Arizona, with wonderful patients and families for whom I care deeply. But my heart has always felt a pull to return to the roots of my passion.
The transition will occur this January, and my office will assist families in scheduling surgeries which can be done within this timeline. Additionally, we will continue to see patients for routine care through our clinic through the end of 2022. If you have follow-up scheduled for 2023 or beyond, we will be reaching out to you with future recommendations.
Surgery: We will make every effort to accommodate surgeries which can be scheduled by the end of the year. Operative time is limited by the hospital/facility, and we anticipate the schedule filling quickly. If you had planned on having surgery, please reach out to the office ASAP by calling 480-658-0123.
Clinic Follow-up: I will continue to see patients through the end of the year at the Mesa office on the Banner Desert campus and at the CRS clinic downtown. If additional postop care is needed in early January, patients will be seen at the CRS clinic downtown. You also may choose to transition your care to other providers, as there are several other pediatric plastic surgeons available in town. You may reach out to us if you have any questions, or speak with your primary care physician for referrals.
Records: We are happy to send records to you electronically through the portal or by fax. Printing/mailing records will have a nominal cost. We can also schedule a time to transfer records in-office to a personal thumb drive you provide in new, unopened packaging. Please retain this letter for future reference. We anticipate a high volume of calls, so please be patient as we return calls left on voicemail. I thank you for your understanding and patience with this transition. I see my patients as extended family, and I am very sad to say goodbye.
